Large oak limb fallen across the roof of a suburban Texas home after a severe storm

Storm work is a different job to scheduled tree care. A limb resting on a roof is holding energy, and the order in which pieces are cut decides whether the rest of it lifts away cleanly or drops through the ceiling. A partially uprooted tree can shift without warning while somebody is standing under it. This is the work where experience is not a nice-to-have.

When you call, we triage. If anyone is near a downed power line we will tell you to move away and call Austin Energy first, because no tree crew should touch an energised conductor. If the hazard is a limb over a driveway, we will tell you honestly whether it can wait until morning rather than charging you an emergency rate for something that is stable.

Our first visit is about making the situation safe and getting you access. We remove the immediate danger, tarp what needs tarping, and clear the drive. The full cleanup and any remaining removal is scheduled after that, at standard rates, once the pressure is off.

What is included

Round-the-clock dispatch
Calls answered by an on-call crew member at any hour, including through the night and on holidays.
Hazard stabilisation
Loose and hanging limbs brought down, leaning trunks secured or removed, and unstable material taken out of the drop zone first.
Trees off structures
Sectional removal of trees resting on roofs, garages, vehicles and fences, cut in an order that lifts weight off rather than driving it through.
Access clearing
Driveways, gates and walkways cleared so you, your roofer and your adjuster can all get in.
Insurance documentation
Timestamped photographs, a written description of the failure and an itemised invoice formatted for a claim, provided at no extra charge.
Follow-up assessment
A free daylight inspection of the remaining trees, because the tree that failed is rarely the only one that was stressed.

How we approach it

  1. 01

    Call and triage

We establish what has failed, what it is resting on and whether anyone is at risk, then give you a realistic arrival window.

  2. 02

    Secure the scene

On arrival the crew isolates the area, identifies loaded limbs and confirms no conductors are involved before any cutting starts.

  3. 03

    Relieve and remove

Sections cut and rigged in an order that releases stored tension safely and lifts weight off the structure rather than dropping it.

  4. 04

    Document and schedule

Everything photographed for your claim, access cleared, and the remaining work booked at standard rates.

What drives the price

Nobody can quote this accurately over the phone, and any company that does is guessing. These are the five things an arborist is actually assessing when they walk your property.

Time of call
Overnight and holiday call-outs carry a higher mobilisation rate than a first-light start, and we will always tell you the difference on the phone.
What it landed on
A tree in the yard is straightforward. A tree through a roof requires slow sectional work with weight transferred off the structure at every stage.
Stored tension
Bent, pinned and partially split limbs hold enormous energy. Releasing them safely takes time and sometimes a second climber.
Storm volume
After a regional event every crew in Austin is committed. We prioritise structures and blocked access over yard debris, and we will tell you where you sit in the queue.
Crane requirement
Some failures cannot be climbed safely and need a crane, which is a significant cost we will confirm before ordering.

24/7 Emergency Storm Damage questions

For a tree on a structure we are typically on site within 2 to 4 hours anywhere in Greater Austin. After a widespread regional storm every crew in the city is committed at once, so we triage by severity: structures and blocked access first, yard debris after. We will always give you an honest window on the phone rather than an optimistic one.

Get everyone out of the affected rooms and away from the tree. If any line is down or touching the tree, stay well back and call Austin Energy immediately, because we cannot legally or safely work near an energised conductor. If it is safe to do so, photograph everything from a distance for your insurer, then wait for us.

If a tree has damaged an insured structure, most Texas homeowner policies cover removal of the portion affecting that structure, commonly up to a set sublimit. Coverage for a tree that fell and hit nothing is much less common. We provide timestamped photographs and an itemised invoice formatted for a claim at no additional cost.

Yes, overnight and holiday call-outs carry a higher mobilisation rate than a scheduled daytime start, and we tell you that on the phone before dispatching. If the hazard is genuinely stable, we will say so and offer you a first-light slot at standard rates instead.

We can place an emergency tarp over an opening once the tree is off and the area is safe, which buys you time until a roofer arrives. We are a tree company, not roofers, so we do not carry out permanent roof repairs, but we work alongside several Austin roofing contractors regularly.
